«In Kazakhstan, as in the rest of the world, in recent years there has been a sharp increase in the demand for IT specialists on the labor market. Information technologies have been introduced into almost all spheres of human activity. In this regard, universities have developed educational programs that meet the current requirements for specialists. Before starting the development, universities took into account the opinions and requests of employers. For example, employers reported on the need for training in the protection of information systems. The main advantage of the new programs is that they are aimed at obtaining the practical knowledge that is needed in the labor market. By the way, there are many new programs at the intersection of IT and other areas – “IT-law”, “IT-medicine”, “Precision farming”, etc.», – noted the director of the Department of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Adlet Toybaev.
In addition, universities are establishing cooperation with IT companies – future employers of students.
Dual education is being actively introduced, when students spend up to 40% of their study time at enterprises.
New educational programs are positively assessed by the students themselves, noting that when developing them, attention is focused on practical knowledge.
Note that all new educational programs are included in the Register of educational programs of higher and postgraduate education.
Let us remind you that earlier the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan changed the requirements for the educational activities of Kazakhstani universities. The innovations were introduced depending on the specialties and are aimed at strengthening the practice-orientedness of higher education. Universities now have the opportunity to recruit more practitioners.
